Library
Libraries are not made; they grow.
- Augustine Birrell
At Trinity our school library is to be found at the very heart of the school, both metaphorically and physically .We want and encourage our students not only to read, but to love reading. To that end we have a very well stocked library which offers both study and leisure areas. On our shelves you will find a combination of fiction by authors who are currently popular with our students, as well as the latest reference texts to support the curriculum.
As our technology status would indicate, our catalogue and loans system are fully automated. Computers, all with internet access, are available for student use.
Our library manager works closely with the teaching staff to fill the shelves with interesting and relevant material and our library is in constant use by classes enabling students to develop good research skills.
The library is open both before and after school allowing our students the opportunity to do homework in peaceful surroundings, to catch up on coursework, or, just to have a safe place to browse and relax whilst waiting to be picked up.
Additionally the library provides a venue for showcasing all aspects of our student learning with numerous displays of their work on show. The library is also in demand for many extracurricular functions within our school hosting; school governors’ meetings, the Annual Public Speaking Competition, Author visits, the Creative Writing Club etc. In addition we have just hosted the first book launch by our Creative Writing Group “Black and White Rainbow” available from the school @£6.00 per copy
