PE
The Curriculum
The curriculum has been specifically designed to try to meet the 21st Century needs of our students. We have three pathways that we offer students from Year 7 through to Year 13.
Pathway 1
This is the most basic programme intended for students who do not wish to follow an examination route and see their involvement as a participant only. Whilst their experiences will still fulfil National Curriculum requirements there is flexibility in their option choices to follow prefered activity areas.
Pathway 2
This allows the student to study Physical Education from a variety of perspectives (Performer,Coach or Adminisrator). The introduction of externally examined courses at KS 4 is an option if the student wishes to study the subject in greater detail. The courses available are summarised in the courses offered section of this site.
Pathway 3
This is the most comprehensive package available and builds on the examination route outlined above, allowing students opportunities to develop their theoretical and practical skills into KS 5. Students interested in a related career field often follow this pathway.
