Out of Hours Learning

At Trinity we value opportunities for enhanced learning through offering a wide-ranging programme of additional activities. Here is a flavor for some of the activities that students participate in. Please contact the relevant departments to find out more information.

Sport

Our PE department is especially busy. We offer an excellent range of activities outside school hours. This includes: football, rugby, netball, basketball, athletics, rounders and badminton.

The PE Department also organises an extensive fixtures programme with inter-school competitions on a league, cup and friendly basis. Students participate in trials for district and county representation. Some of our students compete at national level.

The Arts

Music has a strong tradition at Trinity. In addition to GCSE and AS/A2 level Music, we have a school orchestra, choir, and a steel band. Students are given many opportunities to perform to audiences in assemblies, mass and Carol Services to name a few. Please contact the Music department for more information. Activities include:

A lunchtime singing club on Mondays (1235-1315).

A Rock School on Tuesdays (1530-1630).

Instrumentalists on Thursdays (1530-1630).

A music notation club on Fridays (1530-1630).

Drama caters for students who are studying a specific course and for the many that simply enjoy it. AS/A2 level and GCSE Drama are firmly established. Evenings of small group and improvised drama are staged regularly and a variety of trips take place during the day and in the evenings.

Drama is a popular out of school hours activity at Trinity. Recent productions include Mugged by Andrew Payne, Ernie's Incredible Illucinations by Alan Ayckbourn and The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame; adapted by Alan Bennett.

We have a vibrant Art department that organises many installations and clubs for both students and the local community. Themes have included; Sleep - Eternal Rest, Flesh, Fur and Feathers, Story-telling and Shadow Puppet Workshop, various practical workshops (photography, felt making), life drawing and many more. The department is staffed by accomplished artists and has an excellent reputation both locally and nationally.
